I created this little video for people participating in the Community Pottery Project in Walton-on-Thames in 2021 during lockdown. But it may be useful to anyone who is thinking of starting out on their journey with clay. All you need is clay, your hands and an idea in your head of what you would like to make … but a few simple tools might come in handy.

When you are handbuilding with clay on your kitchen table these are some of the tools you can make from objects you might have around the house.
